In 2009-2013, a range of projects were initiated by Philips in Russia and CIS, to strengthen the position of its healthcare unit. Meetings and round table discussions of Philips representatives with the officials in State Duma and Federation Council were managed. Business trips of the top medical staff of the leading hospitals to Philips research and development center in Netherlands were organized. Numerous interviews and articles were arranged in the leading business and industrial media. This resulted in the wide presence and long-term relationships of Philips Healthcare equipment in most of the leading hospitals in CIS. A full-cycle innovation partnership between Philips and ‘Electron’, St. Petersburg based research company, was announced in 2010, devoted to the development and production of innovative medical equipment.
